Current Worlds Tallest Man Dies At 26

p Pornchai Saosri, who was a gigantic 8ft 8ins tall, had been plagued by illnesses related to his unusually fast growth rate and was recently hospitalised. The giant was unofficially labelled the tallest man in the world, towering over the current holder Sultan Kösen, who is 8ft 3, but due to health problems Pornchai was unable to stand straight and had to be measured seated - robbing him of the Guinness World Records title.

Bedridden Pornchai, from Thailand was cared for by his parents and their 15-year-old granddaughter before his death.
Mum Mrs Woen said she returned from washing dishes at 10.05am she found her son dead.
Pornchai had recently been in hospital for eight days before being allowed back home.

After the media originally reported Pornchai’s illnesses, locals donated 110,000 baht (around £2020) to the family.
Mrs Woen redeemed her house, which she remortgaged to pay her son’s bills, using some of the money and there is approximately £920 left to pay for the young man’s funeral.
