Former Everton footballer Wayne Rooney floored wrestler Wade Barrett at the WWE Raw event in Manchester tonight.King Barrett called the England captain out ringside when he accompanied Sheamus out for his match with Cesaro.
Rooney, not one to shirk a challenge, rose to his feet before landing a sweet right hook square on Barrett - a former Liverpool university student.
And the crowd loved it, chanting his name from the rafters.
It seems Rooney took a little inspiration from watching close friend Callum Smith, who claimed the British super-middleweight title at the Echo Arena on Saturday night. follow the link to watch what happened
